When Frequency Therapy Should Not Be Applied

Redaktion Frequency Healings8. Mai 20267 Min. Lesezeit

Not every frequency application is suitable for everyone. A comprehensive overview of contraindications, risk groups, and responsible use.

Absolute Contraindications

The following groups of people should only use frequency therapy in consultation with a physician:

  • Epilepsy / Photosensitive Epilepsy: Rhythmic stimulation (light AND sound) can trigger seizures
  • Pacemakers / Implanted Defibrillators: PEMF and strong electromagnetic fields are contraindicated
  • Active Psychosis / Schizophrenia: Theta frequencies can intensify dissociative states
  • Pregnancy: Insufficient safety data available for intensive frequency therapy

Relative Contraindications & Caution

  • Auditory sensitivity: Start slowly, low volumes, avoid certain frequency ranges
  • Cochlear Implants: Electrical interference possible
  • Acute Infections / Fever: Generally no intensive therapy
  • Children Under 12: Insufficient data for long-term use of Binaural Beats

Volume and Hearing Damage

Even frequencies used for relaxation can cause hearing damage at excessive volumes. The WHO recommends a maximum of 85 dB(A) for up to 8 hours daily; with headphones, a realistic limit is 60–70% of the device's maximum volume. For Binaural Beats: comfortable volume – the frequency, not the volume, is the active factor.

Mental Health Conditions

Delta and Theta frequencies (0.5–8 Hz) can induce deep relaxation and trance-like states. For individuals with trauma history, dissociative disorders, or significant emotional distress, professional guidance is recommended. The application should not be used as self-help for serious mental health concerns.

Safe Usage Recommendations

  • Start with short sessions (5–10 min.) and increase gradually
  • Listen to your body – discomfort, headaches, or dizziness are stop signals
  • Use frequency therapy as a complement, never as a substitute for medical treatment
  • Consult a physician or therapist if uncertain
