So wird es beschrieben
Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) are high-frequency, constantly alternating electric fields (100–500 kHz). They are applied via adhesive pads (arrays) placed directly on the skin over the tumor. They are precisely tuned to the size and division frequency of cancer cells.
Healthy, resting cells are largely unaffected – the fields are designed to interfere with rapidly dividing cells, which is the basis for their clinical application.
Not an audio application. May only be applied via approved clinical medical devices (e.g., from Novocure).
Die einzelnen Frequenzen
Lowest TTFields Frequency
100 kHzOptimized for large tumor cells with slow division rate
The lowest clinically used TTFields frequency targets tumor cells with large cell diameter. Since the optimal frequency is inversely proportional to cell size, 100 kHz is used for larger cancer cells.
Physically, the alternating electric fields at 100 kHz generate dielectrophoretic forces that act particularly at the constriction points during cell division (telophase). The dipole proteins of the mitotic spindle are disrupted, leading to apoptosis.

Experten-Meinungen
“TTFields exploit the specific electrical properties of rapidly dividing cells to interfere with their division through a purely biophysical approach. Clinical trials have demonstrated their efficacy as an adjunct therapy in specific FDA-approved indications.”
